Trends To Look For in 2015

Happy New Year! After browsing around on the Internet, and looking at multiple 2015 Spring and Summer runway looks, I found trends that we will all most likely be seeing in the new year. Hopefully this blog will help you guys get ahead on preparing for looking cute in the new year.

1. Minimal Makeup
In the Marc Jacobs 2015 Spring Summer Collection, many models went on with little to no foundation. This means that a beauty look may be using things like tinted moisturizer. A great tinted moisturizer is this one by Laura Mercier which can be found at Macy's, Sephora, or wherever high brand makeup is sold.

2. Black Ink Liner
This was shown on the Diesel 2015 runway. I've always loved a simple black ink eyeliner and I think it compliments every look. I've tried so many black ink eyeliners such as the Sephora Collection Long Lasting Eyeliner High Precision Brush, Maybelline Eye Studio Master Duo Glossy Liquid Liner, etc. My favorite one was this Benefit Cosmetics Magic Ink Jet-Black Liquid Eyeliner.

3. Toned Down Cheeks
In 2014 everyone was trying to recreate those Kim K contoured cheek. In the Chanel 2015 runway, that natural minimal makeup look was achieved with a simpler flushed cheek. I recommend recreating this look with this Benefit Dandelion Blush.

December Beauty Gifts

Hey guys!
It's December! Winter is my one of my favorite seasons because everyone gets so into it and everywhere you go you see lights and Christmas trees and the world just seems like a happier place! (also my birthday is in winter haha)
Now in December, everyone goes holiday shopping and most girls probably want beauty related items so today I'm going to share some ideas with you guys to get teenage girls presents they will love! <3 (Make sure to click on the titles to link to the websites!)

1) Sephora Kits
These kits are such an easy gift. They're all exclusive, limited edition make up sets and best of all, you save so much money on these.
These are definitely going on the top if my Christmas list.

2) Bath and Body Works Christmas Scents
These are my favorite fragrances ever! They are so Christmasy and wintery and everything amazing. These only come around Christmas time so they are the perfect gift to give because they last throughout the year.

3) Ulta Gifts
If you're not looking to spend a lot of money, Ulta is the place to go. Although Ulta isn't my favorite place to buy beauty items, I have to admit that they go all out for the holidays.

Easy 5 Minute Hairstyles

A big issue of mine lately has been my hair. I never have time to straighten it or spend time on it so it just usually goes up. Luckily, I've been experimenting with different hair styles and I came up with some quick easy ones that look like you took time to put effort into it:)

1. Beach waves

  • Put your hair in a side braid
  • Run a flat iron over your braid
  • Take out the braid and brush your hair lightly
  • Now you have perfect beach waves!

2. Detailed Braid (I get so many compliments when I wear this one!)

  • Put all your hair on one side of your head
  • Split in into three sections
  • Braid all the sections into 3 separate braids and tie the 3 braids with clear elastics
  • Braid the 3 separate braids together
  • Now you have a 9 strand braid that looks super difficult but it's sooooo simple!

3. Wrapped Ponytail

  • Put your hair in a ponytail and leave two strands in the front
  • Take the two front strands and wrap them around the ponytail hair tie
  • Use bobby-pins to keep the wrapped strands in place
  • It looks like you tied the ponytail in a knot!:)

How To Look Cute While Running Late

How to look cute while running late:

Ok so this blog in particular is dedicated to all those girls who always try to look cute and presentable but never have the time.
I'm gonna give you guys some tips and tricks to help solve this problem.

1) Shower the night before
If you're anything like me, you have maybe 15 minutes in the morning to get ready to go. I never have time to take showers in the morning so I'm a night showerer.
2) Sleep in leggings or sweats
This prevents you from having to take time out of your morning to change. Here's a cute way to incorporate your leggings into your outfit:
3) Put your hair in a messy bun
This saves you so much time in the morning instead of straightening or curling your hair like normal. (Take a headband or something to make it look cuter)
Take Kylizzle for example:
4) Heavy foundation
Now you're probably thinking what the frick?? I'm running late, why do I want to put on a heavy foundation. Well for starters, my normal face routine consists of tinted moisturizer, concealer, and powder. Using a heavy foundation allows me to skip the step on concealer. One less step=happy alyssa:) (Side Note: Use MakeupForever Foundation from Sephora because it doesn't even need a powder!)
5) Eyes and Lips
Forget eyeshadow, eyeliner, eyebrows, and curling those lashes. Take a really dramatic mascara to make up for all the missed steps. I like to use the They'reReal Mascara by Benefit. Now for lips, we got no time to moisturizer AND put on a lip color. When in a rush, I use Revlon Lip Butter because it is moisturizing while providing lip color. If there's any excess time, take a kohl pencil and define you eyes.
What would you guys think of a running late video? Let me know!:)
XOXO

September Fall Favorites!

Hey guys!
So the month of September has passed, and I thought I would blog about what things I discovered in September. The month of September usually means that a bunch of businesses come out with their fall themed items, which is awesome.
One of my favorite "fall items" is the Pumpkin Latte and Marshmallow scent from Bath and Body Works. This scent is amazing and it totally reminds me of pumpkin patches, and fall leaves, and all things autumn.
Another "fall item" that I recently discovered was the Carmel Apple Spice drink on the Starbucks menu. Sooooo good! I'm not a fan of their traditional fall seasonal drinks because they're too sweet but when my friend told me about this one, I had to try it out. It tastes like all things autumn in a cup!
I'm also going to talk about my favorite fall beauty trends. First is adding autumn colors to your wardrobe like burgundy and cream for a fall vibe. Second is makeup, to look ready for fall, I began creating really bronzy, smoky eye looks with my Sephora Colorful 5 palette in the shade pale to rich taupe.
Lastly, I'm going to leave you with a fall recipe clickable link:
 Apple Crisp Stuffed Baked Apples

Hope you try these things out to start the fall season off right!
